<title>analyse modale des plaques homogénes: cas sain et endommage</title>
<link>http://dspace.univ-tissemsilt.dz/handle/123456789/3591</link>
<description>analyse modale des plaques homogénes: cas sain et endommage
DJAARAOUI, NASSIRA
Les plaques minces sont des éléments mécaniques importants largement utilisés dans plusieurs &#13;
applications industrielles. Au cours de leur fonctionnement, elles peuvent être soumises à différentes &#13;
sollicitations mécaniques et vibrations pouvant provoquer l’apparition de défauts tels que les fissures, &#13;
ce qui affecte leur comportement mécanique et leurs propriétés dynamiques.&#13;
L’objectif de ce travail est d’étudier et d’analyser l’influence de la présence des fissures sur les &#13;
caractéristiques vibratoires des plaques minces. Dans un premier temps, une modélisation numérique &#13;
d’une plaque saine a été réalisée, ensuite une fissure a été introduite dans la plaque afin d’étudier son &#13;
influence sur les fréquences propres.&#13;
La méthode des éléments finis a été utilisée à l’aide du logiciel de calcul ABAQUS pour effectuer &#13;
l’analyse numérique. Les fréquences propres ont été calculées pour les deux configurations étudiées : &#13;
la plaque saine et la plaque fissurée. Une comparaison des résultats obtenus a été effectuée afin &#13;
d’analyser l’effet de la présence de la fissure sur le comportement vibratoire de la structure.&#13;
Cette étude met en évidence l’importance de l’analyse des défauts dans les structures minces afin de &#13;
mieux comprendre leur comportement dynamique et d’évaluer l’influence des fissures sur les &#13;
propriétés vibratoires des plaques

<title>CONTRIBUTION TO THE STUDY OF NANOFLUID FLOWS IN A SOLAR ENERGY CAPTURE UNIT INTEGRATING A PCM</title>
<link>http://dspace.univ-tissemsilt.dz/handle/123456789/3589</link>
<description>CONTRIBUTION TO THE STUDY OF NANOFLUID FLOWS IN A SOLAR ENERGY CAPTURE UNIT INTEGRATING A PCM
DJAAD, Fethi
Thermal energy storage using phase change materials (PCMs) has emerged as a promising &#13;
solution to compensate for the intermittency of solar radiation and to ensure the continuity of energy &#13;
supply in solar-assisted thermal systems. However, the inherently low thermal conductivity of &#13;
PCMs still represents a major scientific challenge that limits their thermal performance.&#13;
The aim of this thesis is to improve the energetic performance of a solar domestic hot water &#13;
production system by employing two thermal enhancement strategies: the addition of metallic fins &#13;
and the incorporation of nanoparticles.&#13;
The studied system consists of two interconnected parts. The first part concerns a flat-plate solar &#13;
collector, for which a mathematical model was developed to evaluate its thermal efficiency as well &#13;
as the outlet fluid temperature under the climatic conditions of the city of Tissemsilt during four &#13;
representative days of the year’s seasons (July, December, April, and September). Nanoparticles &#13;
were  integrated  into  the  collector  in  order  to  enhance  its  thermal  performance.  The  outlet &#13;
temperature obtained from this part represents an essential input parameter for the second part of &#13;
the system, namely a latent thermal energy storage unit based on a triplex-tube heat exchanger. &#13;
Within this heat exchanger, two enhancement techniques were simultaneously implemented: the &#13;
addition of innovative metallic fins to intensify heat transfer, and the direct incorporation of &#13;
nanoparticles into the RT82 phase change material. Numerical simulations carried out using &#13;
ANSYS Fluent 18.1 were used to investigate the effect of the adopted strategies on the melting &#13;
process of the phase change material.&#13;
The results reveal a significant improvement in heat transfer, a reduction in melting time, and better &#13;
thermal uniformity, confirming that the combined use of fins and nanoparticles is an effective &#13;
approach for enhancing the storage efficiency of low-temperature solar thermal systems.

<title>Design and theoretical study of Heusler compounds based on transition metals for applications in spintronics and proper energy: Ab-initio approach with WIEN2k.</title>

<description>Design and theoretical study of Heusler compounds based on transition metals for applications in spintronics and proper energy: Ab-initio approach with WIEN2k.
BOUADI, Abdelkader Ilias
In this thesis, we detailed the structural, elastic, thermodynamic, electronic, and magnetic proper- &#13;
ties of the following alloys: Pr2RhZ, Pr2CoZ, Ir2ScZ, Rn2MnZ, and the quaternary Heusler compound &#13;
CrPrCoZ, where Z = Al, Ga, In, Ge, Sb, Sn, or Te. The alloys were based on rare-earth and transition &#13;
metals. The calculations were carried out within the framework of density functional theory (DFT) &#13;
utilizing the full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method (FP-LAPW) as implemented in &#13;
the WIEN2k package.&#13;
In order to optimize the structure, the GGA-PBE exchange-correlation functional was employed. &#13;
This allowed precise calculation of the elastic constants, bulk moduli, equilibrium lattice parameters, &#13;
and formation energies. Indicators of mechanical stability and ductility were assessed by calculating &#13;
elastic moduli according to the Born–Huang criteria.&#13;
The presence of half-metallic or spin-gapless behavior, bandgap characteristics, and spin polar- &#13;
ization were evaluated by analyzing spin-polarized electronic band structures together with total and &#13;
projected densities of states (DOS/PDOS). Magnetic configurations were examined by comparing &#13;
ferromagnetic, paramagnetic, and ferrimagnetic phases. For several compounds, the calculated total &#13;
and atomic magnetic moments follow the Slater–Pauling rule, indicating strongly spin-polarized and &#13;
well-defined integer magnetic moments.&#13;
Vibrational and thermodynamic properties were investigated using the quasi-harmonic Debye &#13;
model to study heat capacities, entropies, thermal expansion coefficients, and Debye temperatures &#13;
as functions of temperature and pressure. These results provide insights into lattice stability, anhar- &#13;
monic effects, and phonon-mediated thermal transport relevant to thermoelectric and magnetocaloric &#13;
applications.&#13;
Overall, the computational results demonstrate that the investigated Heusler compounds are struc- &#13;
turally stable, mechanically robust, and electronically promising. Their strong spin polarization, half- &#13;
metallic character, and stable magnetic ordering make them attractive candidates for next-generation &#13;
spintronic devices, magnetic sensors, and energy-efficient technologies.
