<title>CONTRIBUTION TO THE STUDY OF NANOFLUID FLOWS IN A SOLAR ENERGY CAPTURE UNIT INTEGRATING A PCM</title>

<description>CONTRIBUTION TO THE STUDY OF NANOFLUID FLOWS IN A SOLAR ENERGY CAPTURE UNIT INTEGRATING A PCM
DJAAD, Fethi
Thermal energy storage using phase change materials (PCMs) has emerged as a promising &#13;
solution to compensate for the intermittency of solar radiation and to ensure the continuity of energy &#13;
supply in solar-assisted thermal systems. However, the inherently low thermal conductivity of &#13;
PCMs still represents a major scientific challenge that limits their thermal performance.&#13;
The aim of this thesis is to improve the energetic performance of a solar domestic hot water &#13;
production system by employing two thermal enhancement strategies: the addition of metallic fins &#13;
and the incorporation of nanoparticles.&#13;
The studied system consists of two interconnected parts. The first part concerns a flat-plate solar &#13;
collector, for which a mathematical model was developed to evaluate its thermal efficiency as well &#13;
as the outlet fluid temperature under the climatic conditions of the city of Tissemsilt during four &#13;
representative days of the year’s seasons (July, December, April, and September). Nanoparticles &#13;
were  integrated  into  the  collector  in  order  to  enhance  its  thermal  performance.  The  outlet &#13;
temperature obtained from this part represents an essential input parameter for the second part of &#13;
the system, namely a latent thermal energy storage unit based on a triplex-tube heat exchanger. &#13;
Within this heat exchanger, two enhancement techniques were simultaneously implemented: the &#13;
addition of innovative metallic fins to intensify heat transfer, and the direct incorporation of &#13;
nanoparticles into the RT82 phase change material. Numerical simulations carried out using &#13;
ANSYS Fluent 18.1 were used to investigate the effect of the adopted strategies on the melting &#13;
process of the phase change material.&#13;
The results reveal a significant improvement in heat transfer, a reduction in melting time, and better &#13;
thermal uniformity, confirming that the combined use of fins and nanoparticles is an effective &#13;
approach for enhancing the storage efficiency of low-temperature solar thermal systems.

<title>Analyse statistique de l’effet des conditions de coupe sur les paramètres technologiques en tournage du polyoxyméthylène POM–C</title>
<link>http://dspace.univ-tissemsilt.dz/handle/123456789/3082</link>
<description>Analyse statistique de l’effet des conditions de coupe sur les paramètres technologiques en tournage du polyoxyméthylène POM–C
HAKMI, TALLAL
Les polymères se distinguent par leur excellente résistance à la corrosion, leur faible absorption &#13;
d’humidité, leur grande résistance à l’abrasion, ainsi qu’un bon équilibre entre ténacité, rigidité &#13;
et résistance mécanique. Leur fonctionnement silencieux, l’absence de besoin en lubrification &#13;
et  leur  coût  raisonnable  expliquent  leur  adoption  croissante  dans  l’industrie  mécanique, &#13;
notamment pour des pièces de véhicules telles que les engrenages, roues, cages de roulements, &#13;
corps de pompes ou paliers.&#13;
Cependant, leurs propriétés thermomécaniques — comme un faible module d’élasticité et un &#13;
coefficient de dilatation thermique élevé — rendent leur usinage difficile. La qualité de surface &#13;
obtenue par tournage dépend fortement des paramètres de coupe (vitesse de coupe (&#119881;&#119888; ), vitesse &#13;
d’avance (&#119891;) et profondeur de coupe (&#119886;&#119901;)), de la géométrie l’outil (angle d’attaque &#119883;&#119903; et rayon &#13;
de bec &#119903;ɛ) et de l’état de l’outil, ainsi que des conditions de lubrification (usinage à sec ou &#13;
lubrification à quantité minimale (MQL)).&#13;
Cette thèse porte sur l’étude du tournage du polyoxyméthylène copolymère (POM-C), un &#13;
thermoplastique largement utilisé. Elle vise à évaluer l’effet des paramètres de coupe et de &#13;
lubrification MQL sur différents critères d’usinabilité et de durabilité, notamment : la rugosité &#13;
de surface (&#119877;&#119886;), la force de coupe tangentielle (&#119865;&#119911; ), la puissance de coupe (&#119875;&#119888; ), le taux &#13;
d’enlèvement de matière (&#119872;&#119877;&#119877;), et le coût global (&#119862;&#119905;&#119900;&#119905;&#119886;&#119897; ).&#13;
L’approche méthodologique combine des outils statistiques (ANOVA, diagramme de Pareto), &#13;
des techniques de modélisation (RSM, ANN) et une optimisation multi-objective basée sur trois &#13;
algorithmes  métaheuristiques.  Ce  travail  s’inscrit  dans  une  démarche  d’optimisation  du &#13;
processus d’usinage des polymères, avec pour objectif la détermination des conditions de coupe &#13;
les plus performantes.

<title>Study and simulation of complex thermal-hydraulic phenomena in nuclear reactors using the CFD method: Validation of models by reference benchmark experimental data</title>

<description>Study and simulation of complex thermal-hydraulic phenomena in nuclear reactors using the CFD method: Validation of models by reference benchmark experimental data
AYAD, FOUAD
The  current  work  documents  the  Computational  Fluid  Dynamics  (CFD)  code  validation &#13;
activity, carried out at the Nuclear Research Center of Birine relevant to Atomic Energy &#13;
Commission of Algeria as part of  International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Coordinated &#13;
Research Project (CRP): Application of CFD Codes for Nuclear Power Plant Design to assess &#13;
the current capabilities of these codes and to contribute to technological progress in their &#13;
verification and validation. A set of ROCOM CFD-grade test data of Pressurized Thermal &#13;
Shock test  (PTS) specifications  was made available in  the framework of this  (CRP) by &#13;
Helmholtz Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, (HZDR) Germany, to perform detailed calculations &#13;
of the proposed test. The reference point is the injection of relatively cold core cooling water &#13;
(ECC), which can induce buoyant stratification. The data obtained from the PTS experiment &#13;
were compared with the results of Ansys-CFX calculations in this paper.  The unsteady &#13;
Reynolds-Averaged  Navier-Stokes  (URANS)  model  is  used  to  examine  the  buoyancy- &#13;
influenced flows in the reactor pressure vessel for condition where natural circulation is a &#13;
dominant factor. The Shear Stress Transport (SST k-ω) turbulence model is used to take into &#13;
account the turbulence effects on the mean flow. Calculation results show a good qualitative &#13;
and quantitative agreement with the experiment data.

<title>Etude et analyse du comportement des structures en matériaux composites avec des propriétés spécifiques sous différents types de chargement</title>
<link>http://dspace.univ-tissemsilt.dz/handle/123456789/3037</link>
<description>Etude et analyse du comportement des structures en matériaux composites avec des propriétés spécifiques sous différents types de chargement
Ahmed, ZITOUNI
Dans ce travail, nous nous intéressons particulièrement à l'effet du cisaillement &#13;
transverse  sur  le  comportement  des  structures  composites,  telles  que  les  plaques &#13;
composites, avec des propriétés spécifiques sous différents types de chargement.&#13;
A cette fin, nous proposons un nouveau champ de déplacement qui inclut à la fois le &#13;
gauchissement de la section transversale et les déformations de cisaillement transversal. &#13;
Cette approche nous permettra de mieux saisir les effets de cisaillement, qui jouent un &#13;
rôle important dans la réponse mécanique de ces structures hétérogènes.&#13;
Les propriétés des matériaux de la structure sont supposées varier continuellement &#13;
dans l'épaisseur, en fonction de la nature du gradient fonctionnel (FGM) des matériaux &#13;
utilisés. Cette variation intrinsèque des matériaux aura un impact significatif sur le &#13;
comportement global de la structure.&#13;
Les équations du mouvement seront déterminées en utilisant le principe du travail &#13;
virtuel,  fournissant  ainsi  les  équations  régissant  le  comportement  de  ces  structures &#13;
composites FGM.&#13;
Des solutions analytiques seront ensuite recherchées pour décrire le comportement &#13;
de ces structures composites à gradient lorsqu'elles sont soumises à différents types de &#13;
chargement.  Cette  solution  analytique  rigoureuse  permettra  de  comprendre  en &#13;
profondeur l'effet du cisaillement transversal sur les performances thermomécaniques.&#13;
L'objectif est d'évaluer avec précision l'impact des effets de cisaillement sur la réponse &#13;
des structures composites à gradient avancé, afin d'optimiser leur conception pour des &#13;
applications difficiles.
