Résumé
The objective of this work is to synthesize a new ionic liquid, 1-methyl-3-tosyl-1H-
imidazol-3-ium chloride [Tmim+][Cl-], and to study its physical and chemical properties. The
molecular structure of the sample was confirmed by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The
infrared spectra in the ATR mode of the ionic liquid show characteristic peaks of this liquid.
Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) results revealed a glass transition temperature (Tg)
of approximately -34 degrees Celsius.
The ionic liquid was tested for its potential application as an antioxidant and its efficacy as an
antibacterial agent and antifungal agent against Candida albicans. Finally, a theoretical study
was conducted using Density Functional Theory (DFT) on our sample to optimize its
structure, identify various vibrational modes, and compare them with the experimental results.
